The Udder Delights Cheese Cellar is the host and starting point of the Adelaide Hills Cheese and Wine Trail. The Trail is a three course progressive picnic that includes our locally produced artisan cheese. Each course is held at a different cellar door in the Adelaide Hills, and is matched specifically to the wine offered for tasting.
As you visit each cellar door you are encouraged to consume each cheese with the pre-matched wine. Whilst there, you are welcome to try the whole range of wines offered by each winery. So by the end of your trail you would have visited at least three wineries, sampling at least three of our cheeses that have been pre-matched to three specific wines.
The Cheese and Wine Trail is a self drive tour – so you will need your own car unless you organize a chauffeur.
The trail costs $49 per couple and includes an Udder Delights Fridge Bag, plates, knives, napkins, reusable ice, tasting notes, trail route & cellar door guide. It also includes 3 courses of food.
Course 1 is Udder Delights Chevre, Kalamata Olives & Deli Crackers matched to 90ml Sparkling Wine.
Course 2 is Udder Delights Adelaide Hills Brie, Muscatels & Water Wheels matched to 90ml Chardonnay.
Course 3 is Udder Delights Heysen Blue, Roasted Almonds & Tasting Crackers matched to 45ml Fortified Wine.
You can take 2 different route options. The first option is operating 7 days a week – Rockbare Cellar Door (Hahndorf), Nepenthe (Balhannah) and Bird in Hand (Woodside.) The second option is operating on weekends only – Goldings Wine (Lobethal), Tupelo Vintners (Lobethal) & Lobethal Road (Mt Torrens).
You do not need to pre-book the Cheese and Wine Trail but we do recommend it. This way you will not have to wait for us to get your hamper organised – we can have it ready for your pre-arranged pick up time.
We can do group bookings however it is the group organiser’s responsbility to pre-arrange the visit with each winery to ensure that the winery can accomodate such numbers.
Give us a call on 08 8388 1588 to organise.
